We have no hesitation in recommending Vale Vet Group to anyone who is looking for the best care for their much-loved pets.
When we were faced with having to make the hardest decision that all pet owners dread, we felt supported every step of the way by all their staff. From their kindly receptionists and compassionate and thorough vets and nurses, they all went out of their way to ensure our beloved dog had the very best end possible. Their kindness to us is the predominant memory of that difficult time.
When we felt able to welcome a new pet, they willingly offered advice regarding
vaccinations etc. but were also willing to consider a difference of opinion.Unfortunately, our puppy soon became very unwell and on top of this had the misfortune to break a couple of teeth and her leg.
At all times the staff were committed to delivering the highest of quality care with referrals to specialists when necessary. And I must also mention their patience with us! I know at times I was at my wits end and quite despairing of ever having a healthy pup, but thankfully they kept the faith and reassured us throughout!
All options were discussed and considered, and their professional opinion given. Collaborative treatment plans made and revised throughout.
Although we are keen not to visit too often, this pup loves seeing her friends at Vale, and we do consider ourselves fortunate to have such an excellent service available to us.
Smokey was rescued by one of our clients who soon noticed there was something amiss with his breathing. Upon examination by Louise Findlay it was evident that there was a serious issue, she suspected that he had a ruptured diaphragm from some form of trauma. As Miss Clarke has only
owned Smokey for a week, this would have been a problem that Smokey had been coping with for some time.He was x-rayed to find most of his abdominal contents in his chest and a decision was made to operate to repair the rupture, this is a very risky procedure with many not making it through.
Vet Steph Zurek and nurses Lucy Dechan and Holly Foster performed the operation the same morning at Honiton with Smokey going for further hospitalisation at Cullompton to recuperate. He was sent home 2 days later to recover with his new family. He has healed nicely and is very happy in his forever home.
Smokey’s owner very kindly wrote this for us.
Smokey’s diaphragmatic hernia operation on 08.06.22 went amazing thanks to Steph and she saved our boys life. He’s made a fantastic recovery and we are very appreciative of all the help we got from all the staff at Honiton vale vets.
